Cats For Adoption
Cats & Kittens at Pets West
Pets West works with a number of local cat rescues, including Victoria Humane Society and Dee’s Orphan Fund.
Due to overwhelming demand at this time for cats and kittens, unfortunately, our waiting list is now over 300 people, and in fairness to those that have waited for months, we cannot accept any more people on the list at this time.
We are sorry we cannot assist you at this time and suggest also trying our resource page at https://www.petswest.ca/resources
Adoptions are done as a volunteer service with no fee charged by Pets West (all adoption fees go directly to the rescue) and with limited resources. Our goal is to ensure that all cats get a good home, and hopefully in the long term that all good homes get a cat.
All of the cats listed on this page are courtesy posts for our local rescue organizations, private homes, or local breeders!
Meet Missy. This lovely girl is looking for a special home where she can be herself and flourish on her own time. Missy came from a hoarding situation and when she first arrived she was heavily pregnant and traumatized. We don’t know much about this girl’s past but she is extremely head shy and nervous about being touched. She is curious and likes to be around but she doesn’t want to be pet. Despite Missy being uncomfortable around people, she really likes other cats. Her ideal home will be where her ‘job/purpose’ is to be friends with other cats and not to be snuggly or affectionate with people. Missy likes to hang out with the other cats in her foster home and enjoys sitting on top of the armoire or scratching post and watching the world go by. Missy isn’t really into playing and does not enjoy the company of high energy cats. She is picky about her food but really likes Royal Canin kibble, so hopefully her new family is able to feed her that. Missy is still young (about 1yr) so we hope that in time she will learn to trust and will settle down enough to allow her new family to pet her, but as of right now she’s pretty uncomfortable with being handled.
Visit www.victoriapets.ca for adoption information and our application. Please note that due to increasing numbers of COVID-19 in our province, in an effort to minimize risk to our foster homes and discourage non-essential travel, we will only be considering adoptions on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands at this time.
This sweet boy is playful and adorable. He is shy to start but warms up pretty fast. He would love another young buddy to play with. He he approx 1-1.5 years old. He is still a bit shy and skittish but he does also get under feet and attacks ankles. So a bit of a playful stinker
